TRB Notice: Mailing List Solicitations

TRB does not sell the email addresses of its volunteers or Annual Meeting attendees. If you receive any email claiming to have a list, do not click on any links in the email and delete it immediately. Do not request to be removed from the list (this would likely confirm to the sender that the email address is valid and thus may result in additional solicitations).  Anyone other than TRB who claims to have the TRB Annual Meeting mailing list is acting without TRB’s participation or approval. TRB has no reason to believe any such list would represent the actual Annual Meeting attendees or volunteers.

Unfortunately these nefarious people are ghosts and cease and desist orders are useless.  Our best defense is to educate our constituencies about this scam so that they are not fleeced by these unscrupulous individuals.
